Wii

We have had the Wii for 7 months now, and since then my weight has very slowly but steadily decreased. I have lost 10 lbs since we got the Wii! Just thought I'd share some good news.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. If you are going somewhere be extra safe on the roads, there are a lot of crazies out there. Factiod: Did you know that the average American gains about 8 pounds during the holiday season?

B-ball

Basketball season is almost over! I really do enjoy coaching, but it does take a chunk of my time and a lot of energy! Last Thursday my girls finally won their first game. They were so excited. In the fourth quarter we were losing by one point, and with a minute on the clock one of my players runs down and makes a lay-up. I coach c-team so that right there was a big moment for my team. I have another game tomorrow, should be pretty exciting!

Grandma's B-day!

What a short fun weekend! I went down to Burley this weekend to celebrate my grandma's 90th b-day with my family. David wasn't able to go, he had to work. At her party there were 150 plus people there! I learned a lot about my grandma. Her and her family sang a lot together, and they enjoyed reading poems as a family. It was fun to hear some of her favorites and see some of them reenacted!

Glenn Beck is wrong. We are being lead carefully down to a "A Brave New World"...

This comic is too big to post here, but you should read it and think about our society.
FYI - NOT OFFENSIVE - JUST THOUGHT PROVOKING!

25!

My birthday was so fun. David surprised me with some of my favorite treats - shown below. Then he made a yummy quiche! It was way good. He is such a good cook! We then went shopping to find a good winter coat for me - but I couldn't find a cute one. I got Skecher Shape Ups (shoes) instead. They are pretty sweet kicks - they are treating me well so far. We went to Taccano's for lunch and hit a show. We watched Disney's Christmas Carol in 3D at the IMAX. It was pretty intense. Thanks David for making my 25th b-day extra special! Thanks everyone for the calls, and sweet notes!

No more Cosmo

Sad to say we didn't last very long having a dog. As most of you know, who have or have had a dog, puppies are a lot of work. David and I didn't feel good about keeping him locked in the apartment while we were away, plus he hated to be away from us. Cosmo is now living with a group of LDS girls who rent a house, and have a big back yard. We are happy that we could find such a good home. We are also happy that we learned are lesson quickly and without losing a lot of money!

This is his coat! It is so funny to watch him walk in it. It was a little cold when we went to the park so we put his coat on, but then he didn't move. We then took it off and he chased us around the park.

Pix and things

SO Tisha and I have been pretty quiet and we just wanted to post a few pix of what we've been up to recently :)

This is a pic of a nightstand that Tisha recently painted, she bought 2 of them last summer for $2 each, but they were kinda trashed, the paint was pealing off and they looked pretty ragged, so she got some new silver hardware, and painted them black-- they look 1 million times better now!

This is our bed- That Picture is the Black and White Sacred Grove picture that Tisha Framed herself- in a frame she got for like $1 and then Painted herself - She is so awesome! And you can see the matching Night stands.

This is the Dresser my Mom gave us when we got married, it's older than I am and it was brown and kinda worn looking, but not anymore! Now it's hip and happening, and it has the same paint and hardware as our nightstands so they look like they actually go together :)

Tisha and I decided we both love this puppy - It is a Shiba Inu, which is the smallest of the 6 breeds of Japanese dogs, it pretty much stays puppy sized it's whole life! So adowable!

This is our New Cavalier -- it's a 97, and is pretty nice for the $$ we paid for it and now we have matching cars lol

So yeah, that's pretty much it, I hope you guys are all doing good and having a great fall! - Love David and Tisha Johnson

Salesmen

Well you can tell I enjoyed my summer. I didn't spend too much time blogging! A salesman came to our door today. I have had brothers and many friends who did the whole door to door salesman thing. So I have heard how hard it is, but I still don't like door to door salesmen. I don't like to be sold. David let this guy in and was being chatty cathy with him and was going to buy magazines to furn this guy's college education (which he graduated from Berkley and wanted to go back to college) and travel fund (he wanted to visit Spain and Hawaii - sounded like more of a vacation)! So I did stepped in, and had to be the rude wife that says no! I can be Red (personality type from the Color Code book) sometimes, especially when someone is trying sell something that I don't need or want! David and I decided that we are not going to let salesmen in our house, and that if we want to help people out we can do service for family, people in our ward, or people in our community. I got pretty fired up today about this, so some venting needed to be done. - DOne.

10 for 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This summer is off to a great start! School has been out for two weeks and I am loving it. I have lost 10 pounds in the last 10 days! I was so shocked and so excited. I have never lost 10 lbs in 10 days! I attribute my weight loss to Ulitmate Frisbee and working for Chad. Ultimate has been going for about a month now. I play every Wednesday 6:30 -9:30 with my team, Team Venus! It has been so fun to get back into ultimate. Last Wednesday we were down in the 1st half we came back and won by 2 points. I assissted the winning point! (that was exciting) We play our games at Ann Morrison Park, which is a huge beautiful park next to the river. It is also really close to our apartment.
I was lucky this summer to have a job. Chad found some projects around the complex for me to do. I usually work all by myself so I listen to the IPOD. This last week I listened to all the talks that President Hugh B. Brown has given at BYU. If you have never heard him speak you are missing out! So between taking my summer credits and work I am staying pretty busy - but I not stressed.

Cool!

We got a new A/C unit! Hopefully our apartment stays cool this summer. Last summer our apartment was 90+ degrees. We are loving the "Frigidaire Air"!

Summer TIME!

Sweetness. School is out for the summer! I was getting so excited about summer that the last couple days of school I had a hard time falling asleep. It almost felt like Christmas! This summer I am going to take some summer classes to earn some more credits. I need to sit down and make a list of my summer projects that I want to accomplish!

This is where David got his job!! We are so grateful for all of you who fasted and prayed for us!! This is a new restaurant opening in Boise soon. Another cool thing about this job is that the owner is LDS and David gets to work with one of his good friends.

Race for the Cure

The Race for the Cure is a fundraiser that raises money to support breast cancer research. This was my 3rd year doing the race! It is so amazing to see 15,000 people running/walking and supporting breast cancer research, breast cancer surviors, and paying tribute those who have lost loved ones. David dropped me off and parked. I didn't see him again until after the race. I was right on the starting line... which is really amazing because last year I was at the very back.

Here is my butt crossing the finish line.

Lots of people.

Starting line. You can't really see me, but I am in the front in the middle of the arched balloons.

Women's Conference

Mom and I were able to go to Women's Conference this year down in Provo, UT. For two days from 9-5 each day we listen to talks given by an apostle (Elder Perry), R.S. Presidency members, YW Presidency Members, and Primary presidency members. The things we heard, and felt were amazing! I am so grateful that I could go this year!! The pictures below are of the service night. Mom and I decided to do hand puppets!!!

CPR

David and I went to a CPR training course put on free by a local hospital. Even though I am certified and "should" know everything, I learned a couple new things. I have taken multiple CPR/First Aid courses ever since I was 14 years old. Every time I get re-certified I learn something new. This time I learned that if you don't feel comfortable giving the rescue breaths (do to AIDS, HIV, HEP C) when performing CPR, then you should just do the compressions because that will keep the blood pumping to all the vital organs. If you haven't taken a CPR/First Aid class recently check out the classes offered by your community. You never know when a family member, friend, neighbor, or a co-worker will need CPR/First Aid! (I will get off my soapbox .... now!)

Albie's Deal!

I am learning the couponing ways from Marne and Tiff. Today I got a great deal on cereal. I went to Winco and bought 3 newspapers! I took all my coupons and my doubling coupons. I ended up with 12 boxes of cereal and I paid only $3.62 and I have a $5.00 coupon the next time I go to Albertsons. It was quit the ordeal the cashier that check me out was new and had lots of problems, so other cashiers were helping him. The cashiers were amazed at what a good deal I got, and that they had never seen such a great deal before! ...my last transaction was only $0.87.

Parent Teacher Conference

Wednesday and Thursday night from 5- 8 pm after school I had parent teacher conferences. It has a been a long two days of work and really nothing but work. It is tiring working 13 hour days, but it is so worth it. After parent teacher conferences I feel rejuvenated and more determined to be a good teacher. I love visiting with the parents, I feel that afterward I can understand that individual student better. So... even if you child is a straight A student you should still go to parent teacher conferences for two reasons: 1. Even if your child has a good grades it doesn't = good behavior! 2. It re-motivates the teachers to do a good job!

Chairs

The other day David and I went to the Idaho Youth Ranch Thrift Store. We both found a chair. David found an office chair ($6.75) for our computer area. I found an antique chair for our front room ($18). I love it by the way! David somehow manage to get both chairs into our small car and both of us! I was thoroughly amazed at his tetris skills - hence the pictures.

Academy Is

Diana and Taylor are visiting for a couple of days. They are graduating seniors and are hoping to attend BSU in the fall. Last night we went to a Concert! David's and Diana's favorite bands was playing at the Venue. We all had a great time. While we were standing in line it started pouring! We were all soaked and freezing cold. My shirt didn't dry until the end of the concert which was 3 hours later.

FYI - IHOP

February 24, 2009 7 a.m. - 10p.m.

Known also as Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras, National Pancake Day dates back several centuries to when the English prepped for fasting during Lent. Strict rules prohibited the eating of all dairy products during Lent, so pancakes were made to use up the supply of eggs, milk, butter and other dairy products…hence the name Pancake Tuesday, or Shrove Tuesday.

Since beginning its National Pancake Day celebration in 2006, IHOP has raised nearly two million dollars to support charities in the communities in which it operates. With your help, we hope to raise $1,000,000 for Children’s Miracle Network in 2009!

New Member!!!! and couldn't be Happier!

I am so excited! I am officially a member to the BSU rec center. I haven't been a member of a gym or club for so many months! It has been hard for me to workout. I have been doing workout videos at home, walks, and bike rides. Boring! Well at least those things are boring to me now, since I have had no other opportunities to work out. Today David and I play racquetball. Tomorrow... I don't know yet, but I am excited and looking forward to tomorrow's workout! I am provided proof that yes I am really a member!

Wedding

David and I went to Dani and Brad's wedding. (Dani is David's sister) It was so special! It was almost a year ago that we got married in the same temple. It was a great way to celebrate. It was very cold. We didn't last too long in the cold. After the wedding we left to go set up for the luncheon. We had pizza. I have never seen pizza so big. It was huge. 3 feet in diameter. Thanks Tara and Niels for housing us.
